Abstract

This research work has been carried out to analyze the constraints affecting the Auburn Gresham community members from enrolling and completing Information Technology training such as CISCO Networking Academy training. This research study analyzed a particular group of individuals currently enrolled in technology training courses and the barriers that were encountered before, during, and after attending training. This research study also examined a group of individuals who were not enrolled in any technology training courses. The findings of this research study identified some specific barriers as well as the empowering factors associated with participants enrolled in a CISCO Networking Academy and similar technology training programs. The findings are useful for analyzing ways to improve the technical skills of residents of Auburn Gresham through the implementation of a more effective technology-training program and through the discovery of ways to encourage community members to complete such programs. The positive relationship between completion of technology training and a better positioning for employment in an evolving technological digital age is also discussed in this study.
