Abstract

This presentation will demonstrate three technology tools used in Benner library:

1. Join.me screen sharing is a web-based remote access application. For a preview of our usage, see Johnston, Ann. "Using join.me to Help Library Patrons." Library Hi Tech News 29.8 (2012): 5-6 at http://digitalcommons.olivet.edu/lsci_facp/10/

2. Benner Library Bookmarks (BLIBs) was the library’s solution to a social bookmarking system. The website designer can take php code (built automatically) and add it to a web page. Then the library staff can bookmark webpages and assign them a category. The title, link, and description will “magically” appear on the web page that the code has been added to. The bookmarks can be added, edited, or deleted using this simple program. The program is now available as OSS.

3. Demonstration of how to balance multiple schedules using Google Calendar.
