Abstract

Action research studies inform and inspire educators to implement best practices in literacy to be catalysts for needed change. Their benefits in the classroom: 1) Improves pedagogy; 2) Practitioners maintain a voice regarding change; 3) Educators become invested in data analysis and are reflective about results; 4) Teachers demonstrate leadership roles within educational arenas; 5) Educators analyze qualitative/quantitative data to determine academic achievement while integrating research and practice to improve instructional goals.
