Abstract

The Community Mental Health Council (The Council) helps individuals and families challenged with mental illness. The Council began to experience a growth rate that could not be managed utilizing their current service delivery model. Between 2000 and 2005 they implemented an onboarding program to support the implementation of a new team-based service delivery model. Definitive data regarding the program’s success was needed to inform the organizations decision to re-institute the program. The Kirkpatrick training model adapted by Adelsberg and Trolley (1999) for a business context, was used to evaluate the onboarding program. Of the 15 success indicators, 13 were favorable for the reinstatement of the program.
