Abstract

".... a manuscript accompanied by maps, giving the results of the drainage investigations and surveys made by this Office in the Kankakee River Valley during the years 1905 and 1906/ Special reports upon these investigations have been submitted to officers having charge of the drainage of certain parts of the valley, but, owing to the magnitude of the project and to the fact that a large number of property owners must cooperate in executing the work if the lands are to be effectually drained, ..."

J.R. Black was an advocate for the conservation of the Kankakee River and spent many years collecting data and working with multiple organizations to preserve the Kankakee River Valley.
