J.R. Black was an advocate for the conservation of the Kankakee River and spent many years collecting data and working with multiple organizations to preserve the Kankakee River Valley.

Abstract
This 26"x21" foam posterboard was donated to Olivet Nazarene University by the Black family.
Each photo is 7.5"x10". The photos include:
- A man fishing at the Kankakee river
- A wide shot of the banks of the river
- Two photos of the rock and sediment in the river.
