Abstract
In this paper, I am going to discuss my internship experience at St. Mary's Medical Hospital and how my experience can help prospective college students at Olivet Nazarene University. My one-month Information Systems internship program was working with the health information systems department at the hospital. This paper will cover some background information of the projects I was involved in and what types of tasks I performed on daily basis throughout my one-month of interning. In addition, I will be talking about the details on how the projects were developed. I will not only be discussing the lessons I learned but also the importance of interning during the college year, the benefits of interning and what to expect. In addition, my paper will cover the values of interning with an organization like St. Mary’s Presence Hospital. I will be talking about what I have learned through my years here at Olivet Nazarene University. I will then be discussing what the work environment was like where I was interning. I will talk about my advice to the audience and what I have learned. I will cover how you can make internship experience better and how learning from your coworkers can benefit you in the future. Lastly, I will talk about ways you can improve for upcoming future.
