Abstract
There are many floor framing systems used during the structural designing and construction implementation regarding residential and commercial infrastructure. Floor framing systems, especially the pre-stressed hollow core panels, often generate many problems and are associated with space deficiencies regarding mechanical and electrical applications such as lighting fixtures on ceilings in hotels or air conditioning ducts in commercial buildings. We are proposing a panelized floor framing system (PFFS) design solution, in cooperation with Structural Design Solutions (SDS) and faculty mentor Allen Young, PE, to mitigate many floor framing system problems with supported engineering calculations, practiced structural methodologies, and satisfying codes and standards regarding material specification and building codes.
