Abstract

As the prevalence of food allergies continues to grow (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2013), college students with diagnosed food allergies are having more difficulty finding allergen friendly foods served on college campuses (Food Allergy Research & Education, 2014). Many college students do not make food handlers aware of food allergies (Winthrope, 2013). The proposed mixed methods research is to find the relationship between communication of students and Sodexo food managers regarding food allergies and the availability of allergen friendly foods on a college campus.
