The Preacher's Magazine was initiated by the Church of the Nazarene in 1926 under the editorship of J. B. Chapman and was originally a monthly magazine specializing in theological and sermon material adapted to the requirements of the men and women who give their lives to the preaching of the Wesleyan doctrine of holiness. Designed to help parish pastors more effectively carry out their ministries where they are, over the years the Preacher’s Magazine has faithfully served as a professional journal for ministers of the Church of the Nazarene and several other Wesleyan/Arminian denominations. Sermons included are the product of hardworking pastors (many bi-vocational), from a cross-section of preachers through the international network of Nazarene congregations, who weekly work out the best possible way to preach the gospel to congregations in their cultural context.
