“Kankakee: The River That Connects Us”. The Kankakee River is the essential natural resource both for the present and future health and vitality of the Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana regions. Sustainable stewardship of this remarkable asset is of concern to multiple interests in the bi-state region for: access to drinking water and wastewater disposal, water for commercial use, agricultural drainage, fisheries, boating, maintaining associated habitats for wildlife, wise floodplain control, etc.

The intent of the February 10, 2017 conference is to bring together all stakeholders and interested individuals from Illinois and Indiana for EDUCATION and CONVERSATION about the current conditions of the Kankakee Watershed and forge new relationships and seek clear directions to insure a continually improving ecosystem for the good of all current and future residents.

All sessions held in Larsen Fine Arts Building, Kresge Auditorium.
