Welcome Message

Good evening and welcome. Tonight we mark the beginning of a new academic year and we celebrate the work of the University, which is expressed daily through your labor. The annual President’s Dinner also gives us the opportunity to recognize individuals for their years of service to Olivet and to welcome the new m embers of our faculty and staff. I encourage you to take a moment this evening to read once more the mission statement of the University. It is our mission of providing an “Education With a Christian Purpose” that gives the com m on ground for our varied activities throughout the year. Also, please note the printed descriptions of the significant accomplishments and milestones on the part of various members of the Olivet family.

The beginning of each new semester represents both a significant challenge and a wonderful opportunity for all of us. There are eternal issues and destinies at work on our campus. Let us set our sights, with a singleness of purpose, on the work before us. May God’s grace enable each of us to give our very best, knowing that God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”

We hope you enjoy the evening. We are honored to serve with you as we look forward to a great year!

Sincerely,

Jill and John Bowling
