Abstract

This study applies reverse correlation image classification (RCIC) techniques to estimate the mental representation of the face of Jesus Christ in the minds of participants who vary in attitudes towards Christ. RCIC presents participants with a base face over which randomly varying sinusoidal noise has been superimposed, generating hundreds of subtly different versions of the original base image.
