Abstract
The idea of blessing one’s community is not new to the Nazarene denomination. However, to date, there has been little research conducted on Nazarene churches and community well-being. Partnering with the Church of the Nazarene, our research team is surveying approximately 680 Nazarene pastors/churches in the Central USA region and conducting interviews with a smaller subset of pastors and church leaders to assess how Nazarene churches are currently working toward the well-being of their communities. We use a web-based survey and semi-structured telephone interviews to gather data. Findings are intended to give the Church of the Nazarene a better understanding of how they are currently blessing their communities and how they can possibly improve. Lastly, we finish by identifying areas that may require more research on Nazarene churches' involvement with their respective communities.
