Welcome Message

Good evening and welcome to the annual President’s Dinner for Faculty and Staff. This evening provides an opportunity for the entire Olivet community to be together as we begin the 1997-98 academic year. This is Olivet Nazarene University’s ninetieth anniversary year. We look back with gratitude and awe as we recall the blessings of God upon our work. We look forward with anticipation to the University’s exciting and challenging plans for the future. Our mission, “Edu­cation With a Christian Purpose,” remains constant. Among our special guests this evening is Mrs. Maybelle Reed. Mrs. Reed’s husband, Dr. Harold W. Reed, served as president of Olivet for twenty-six years, from 1949 until his retirement in 1975. We are also pleased to welcome Dr. and Mrs. Leslie Parrott, Presi­dent Emeritus. Dr. Parrott was president of Olivet from 1975 to 1991. As part of the dinner program, we will be introduced to other special guests and several new members of the Olivet faculty and staff. We are happy that you are here and invite you to relax and enjoy a wonderful evening together.
